THE COACHING MASTERS
MERCH WEBSITE AND APP DESIGN STUDY
This project was part of my design assessment for the Senior Creative Designer position at The Coaching Masters.In this case study, I designed both a website and mobile app experience for their merchandise store, focusing on seamless usability, cohesive branding, and an engaging shopping journey. Using Figma, I crafted intuitive layouts and interactive prototypes that highlight clear navigation, modern aesthetics, and a user-centered flow.As a beginner in the UI/UX field, this project represents my growing expertise in wireframing, prototyping, and visual design systems, as well as my commitment to creating functional and aesthetically consistent digital experiences.This study reflects how I approach design challenges, with curiosity, empathy, and a strong desire to build user-focused interfaces that connect and convert.
This project showcases the mobile adaptation of The Coaching Masters Merch Store, designed to deliver a seamless and consistent experience from desktop to mobile. My focus was to ensure that every element, from layout to typography and color, remained faithful to the brand’s identity while providing a smooth and engaging shopping journey.Using Figma, I created a responsive interface that maintains the simplicity and bold energy of the brand. The design emphasizes clarity, hierarchy, and ease of navigation, ensuring that users can browse and purchase merchandise effortlessly on any device.This project reflects my commitment to crafting cohesive digital experiences that balance creativity and usability. PhilHealth Mobile App
(A UI/UX Case Study)
This project is a comprehensive case study I developed as part of the UI/UX Design Essentials course at CIIT College of Arts and Technology.As an aspiring UI/UX designer, I approached this project with the goal of reimagining the PhilHealth mobile experience, focusing on user-centered design, accessibility, and intuitive navigation. Using Figma, I designed a clean and functional interface aimed at improving how users interact with essential healthcare services.This case study reflects my foundational understanding of design thinking, user research, and prototyping, as well as my passion for creating meaningful, user-friendly digital experiences.
Project Overview & Goal
Problem:
The PhilHealth website serves as the primary digital touchpoint for members, but its desktop design can be cumbersome for mobile users.
Solution:
The goal is to design a native mobile app that simplifies key member tasks, improves accessibility, and provides a seamless user experience on mobile devices.
Discovery & Research
Audience:
• Existing PhilHealth members (formal and informal sectors) who need to check their contributions, find information, health benefits and possible clinics/hospital partners.• Potential members looking to register.
Key User Pain Points on Mobile (Hypothesis):
• Difficulty navigating a complex, menu-heavy website on a small screen.• Inconvenience of performing tasks like checking contributions or paying premiums without a mobile-optimized interface.• Lack of a personalized, "at a glance" view of their member information.
Current Website Analysis:
The current PhilHealth website contains several key sections that are crucial for a mobile app:• Members Section: Information on membership categories, premium payments, and data amendments.• Online Services: Features for online registration, premium payments, and setting appointments.• Benefits: Details on healthcare services, eligibility, and coverage.• Other Content: News, circulars, advisories, and contact information.
Information Architecture (IA) & User Journey Flow
Information Architecture for the Mobile App:
• Profile/Dashboard: The user's personal information showing the user's name, PhilHealth ID number, last contribution, and quick links to most used features.• Contributions and Payments: A historical log of all contributions/premium contributions, showing payment history and options to pay online.• Health Packages: A section where the benefits are listed and the ability to acquire this and set appointment to accredited clinics/hospitals.• News and Updates: Important articles regarding the changes and improvements of PhilHealth Services.
User Journey Flow:
• User opens the app and logs in.• Taps on the “Contribution Log”.• The app shows their Contributions, history, Employer, and payments.• Tap on the “Health Packages” and User selects Health Package.• Select Desired “Health Package” and set an Appointment• Thank you Page/Confirmation.
UI/UX Design & Key Features
Design Principles:
• Simplicity: Minimalist design with clear icons and labels.• Accessibility: Large, readable fonts and high-contrast color schemes.• Intuitive Navigation: A prominent navigation bar for core features.
Key Features:
• Member Dashboard: An immediate, personalized overview of a user's PhilHealth status.• Mobile Payments: Seamless integration with popular payment gateways for easy premium payments.• Health Packages: Easy acquisition and setting appointment with accredited clinics/hospitals.• ID Card Integration: A digital version of the PhilHealth ID card accessible within the app for quick reference.

Any problems encountered navigating the PhilHealth Website?
I’m only using the portal as of now to check if my employer remitted my contributions regularly, so below points are just based on that:• Straight forward but still take few clicks to show that total and monthly contributions.• There’s different login for different areas which I think could be minimized by a single login where you can already access all those• I can’t easily find the things I’m looking such as recent updates/Announcement and accredited hospitals• Design could still be improved

• I Like that dashboard show the summary of my profile/Information and the usual things that I’m checking in the Portal which is the total contribution and my eligibility as a member• Easy to navigate from dashboard to the other tabs• It emphasizes the matters that usually members find when they’re using the Portal such as the total and monthly contributions, settlement button for the unpaid contributions, Health packages, and the latest updates• The design can still be improved to make it more unique for Philhealth just like adding watermarks, etc.• Can add tab for hotlines/contact details for further questions/inquiries of members• Can also add tab for FAQs as this is common for Portals and can be really helpful• Overall, this is a good design
